INSOMNIA

INSOMNIA

A Poem by KCthelastboyscout
"

So tired...can't sleep

"
10:35 pm "News is over. Long day. Time to go to bed..."
11:40 pm "Wtf? Only 11:40? It seems like I been asleep longer than that."
12:15 am "Feels hot in here. Can't get comfortable..."
1:35 am "What's going on? I got to get sleep, please..."
2:02 am. " This is ridiculous... What's on tv?"
3:35 am. "This is the worst movie I've ever seen and I only seen half of it.I think I feel sleepy"...
4:00 am. "I guess not."
4:27 am. "I'm going to be a walking zombie today at work."
4:55 am. " I got to get up soon. I'm not going to make it."
5:35 am. "I think I fell asleep. Why did I wake up again?"
6:15 am. ALARM GOES OFF " Oh my God. I need to call into work sick... Let me get up and walk around to see how I feel."
6:30 am. "Yep. Calling in sick..."
6:45 am. ON THE PHONE WITH MY SUPERVISOR. " I still feel sick from last night. I thought I could make it to work this morning, but I can't..."
6:58 am. " I'm just going to lay here all day until I fall asleep. I'm not even going to move."
7:01 am. "This is boring. Let's see what's on tv..."

You need enough physical activity( not 9 to 5 working) during day time, that makes your body to crave for rest. How about yoga classes after work?

Classic over thinking right there ... I never ever have a problem with sleeping ... except when I do ... which really is never :)

I can really sympathize with you. It seems to be happening more and
more frequently. Hmmmmm - could it be old age creeping up on me?
I know that drinking ice tea too late at night does me in.

Take care - Dave

well it seems to be a regular problem nowadays especially if there is stress around us, try to give yourself time to relax and reflect on what a day it had been and my mom is always right drink a warm glass of milk can do wonders

I have this problem from time to time; but don't we all. Work, responsibility, the things we meant to do, but left until the morrow, etc, etc. But with me it is mostly poetry spinning around in my head. I think of a line, get up, scribble it down; wander about a bit, thinking. Then it's back to bed, but to no avail as the thoughts keep coming; the mind remaining active, unwilling to allow me to let go of the day, or sleep until whatever is inside comes out.

Beccy.

I can relate to your words - reading seems to help a bit. Enjoyed this very much :) Julie

I had to laugh out loud while reading this, then despair at my own sleeping condition. I just can't do it like I use to. Cant get thru it like i'de like to. Cant pretend it like I wish to. Cant count the farm animals to bring it about like I see in cartoons. The warning label on the sleep aid says "Warning" not to be taken more than one week , May cause dementia. Melatonin pills are just a bullshit ruse to get your/my money. Yet, each night, there I am again trying to do it all over again.....great poem....dana
