MOONLIGHT MILEA Poem by KCthelastboyscouthow far can you run away from a ruined life
Endless road
Miles to go ...where am I going? Driving in darkness Freeway to highway Tired...so tired I pull over to the side of the road Where am I going? I roll down the window Fresh air...feels good At last, a clear mind The key is in the ignition The radio is on One song fades out and another fades in The guitar chords of Moonlight Mile begin to play I don't know where I'm going, but I know why Away from a place of painful memories Away from so many wasted years of an unfulfilled life ,,,away from her The song continues... " In the window there's a face you know Don't the nights pass slow Don't the nights pass slow" A moment of clarity Back on the road I know where I'm going, but I'm in no hurry to get there I'm just going to enjoy the ride... " I'm sleeping under strange strange skies Just another mad mad day, on the road My dreams is fading down the railway line I'm just another moonlight mile down the road" © 2018 KCthelastboyscoutAuthor's Note
