It's the quiet ones that are the most intriguing

She keeps to herself, but you can't help but notice her.Beautiful. Dark hair with eyes that shine like diamonds. It's a rare thing, but when she smiles, it's a sight to see. You can't take your eyes off her. When she tries to control herself from laughing too hard, her cheeks turn rosy red. She has a small circle of friends. She enjoys their company, but she enjoys the company of herself more. She has a quiet and docile
demeanor. She doesn't care to be the center of attention. She keeps her conversations brief and to the point. But always with a smile. Men and women are attracted to her in one way or another. She keeps everyone at arm's length. She is strong-willed and well disciplined. Only a select few have penetrated her outside shell. Connected with a heart. Touched her soul. But those who were victorious have been vanquished and never heard from again...You will notice her. You can't help it. She tries to downplay her appearance but she can't hide what she is. Extraordinarily stunning. But she is true to herself. A lone wolf. If you approach her with romantic intentions, don't be discouraged if she politely smiles and walks away. You will not be alone. You are just the latest of the kindly dismissed. A trail of the forgotten that can be seen for a long while

This is a wonderful descriptive story of this mystery woman. She is an enigma, but one can't help but picture a certain type of person while reading this story. I think we've all met one of these women, the beautiful, shy, mysterious ones. The way she's so reserved makes us wonder what happened to make her that way. Those last few lines are especially poignant. Perhaps she always turns people away because she's afraid of letting down her wall. If she lets someone in, maybe she'll get hurt. This story is short and simple, but at the same time it has so much depth. Very, very well done.
