Happier DaysA Poem by Tyler GA reminder of what I'm doingHappier days spent with a friend are bright lights that flicker in the distance, swallowed by the swirling turbulence that begs for it all to end. Longing for a warm embrace, while under the covers in a cold, dark place. One solution seems simple, yet so twisted; a selfish choice to end an existence. Yet the battered road that seems so lonely seems to be the best one for me. What to do in these quiet nights, where sleep is just a losing fight? Some pass the time by counting sheep, but my battles are often fought in the deep. I do not know what the future holds, but my assurance comes from the stories of old. They tell of a world run by deceit and despair, and of a people whom, despite all their fear, are still given life, and a breath of fresh air. So I'll continue to cling onto this flickering light, no matter how small it gets at night. And in the morning amidst the sun's early rays, I'll boldly search for happier days.
