A Glimpse of Beauty

A Glimpse of Beauty

A Poem by Tyler G
"

A reminder to touch grass

"
Have you seen those wind-swept trees?
The busy streets lead empty pleas.
The rumbling cars, wherever they roam,
attempt to bring the weary home.
To houses built of fragile glass,
full of empty treasures not built to last.
As the clouds form in the starry skies,
One cannot help but hear the cries
from Mother Nature as her children rest,
having all but abandoned her abundant nest.
The calm of comfort beckons us all,
and steels us against Mother Nature's call.
Yet if pulled but for a mild moment from the endless breeze,
one just might catch a glimpse of beauty from those wild, wind-swept trees.

How well you call the reader to touch and to be touched by nature. I’m not qualified to evaluate the mechanics of poetry, and yet it is easy to say how readable and relatable this poetry is. Thank you for sharing.

Very well rhymed piece here, and with an important message. The advantages of development are bought at the cost of loss of natural beauty. The sight of windswept trees does more for the soul than a host of Seven Eleven stores.
