Welcome

Welcome

A Poem by Tess O'Malley

Welcome
Welcome to my eyes
The eyes that have seen a family evolve
The eyes that have seen happiness and love
The eyes that have seen death and loneliness
Welcome to my nose
The nose that has smelled the freshness of the fruit
The nose that has smelled the salt of the seas
The nose that has smelled the stench of humanity
Welcome to my lips
The lips that have smiled at him
The lips that have spoken encouragement
The lips that can't take some words away
Welcome to me
The girl who acts to bubbly
The girl who acts to quiet
The girl who acts to happy
The girl who acts to mean
This is the girl I've been made out to be
