Mama Knows Best

Mama Knows Best

A Poem by Tess O'Malley

Mama knows best

I'm too old for toys

Mama knows best

I'm now talking to boys

Mama knows best

I'm putting some makeup on

Mama knows best

I'm curling my hair right along

Mama knows best

I'm not going to disagree

Mama knows best

I'm not crying when he hits me

Mama knows best

I'm putting on my winning smile

Mama knows best

I'm getting no blood on the kitchen tile

Mama knows best

I'm silent being carried away

Mama knows best

I'm perfect at my funeral today

...dang, that's such a deep poem. Really, good job. It grabbed my heart and held it all the way though. I would love to read more poetry like this. Poor girl... I'm so sad that this is actually what's going on in our world right now. Why can't it just stop? Thank you for the read.
