Chapter 4A Chapter by Tess
"Heal him faster, Hope," Keller growled.
"I can't rush this, and you shouldn't try to either," Hope mumbled back. "I don't care! He's her right hand. One of the reasons why safe house 13 is nothing but ashes and cinders, the reason why we had to move to safe house 7. I want to question him, then-," That's when the dark haired man groaned and tried to sit up. His eyes snapped open and he moved to attack Hope, only to be pulled back by Jaz and Mel. "Wrong move, buddy," Mel said. "Wrong side of the war, shifter," Caspian said leaning back on the hospital bed. "Like hell, you were standing next to Lily. She was talking to you, before she fled like the miserable coward she is." "So what? I can't talk to a pretty Vamp? Where's the law? Show me," He growled at Mel and then said , "I won't tell you a damn thing, so it'll be easier if you just killed me," He looked Hope up and down "although I wouldn't mind being tortured by her for a little while,' he smiled and winked at her. Her eyes flamed and she backhanded him across the face. "I won't hurt people, I purely heal. My friends Ash and Laurent will take care of torture. And this time, maybe I'll make sure I'm unavailable or that you slip through the cracks and you die, slowly," she lowered her voice and then walked... no stormed out of the hospital room. "Feisty, she mated?" "I won't dignify that with an answer, but maybe you can give us some," Jaz jerked his hand backwards and only stopped when she heard the satisfying crack of his wrist. He gave no visible reaction, quite the opposite really. He looked calm, as though he was convinced he was in control. D****t. "Well then, I'll go get your torture set up. I think we'll try Chinese water torture." Jaz said as she walked out, Mel on her heels. ~~~~ "Damn that hurt," Caspian whispered as the tears of pain ran down his face. He couldn't let them see his pain. He couldn't let them see his fear. And he especially couldn't let them find out why Lily started this war. Caspian waited and waited but no one came to torture him, when he tried the door he found that it was locked from the outside. In Li-mans terms, he was stuck. He did the only thing that he could in the tiny room, looked for spare exits and since was too big to crawl through the air duct there was none, not even a window, then he went to sleep. ~~~~ "Why am I doing this?," Hope whispered to herself as she laid her head on the dark haired mans door, her hand poised to open it. For some reason she felt the need to heal him, heal the wrist she knew Jaz had broken. Before she could convince herself to stay away, that this was a bad idea and she should go get a latte or something, she walked in and found the dark-haired man asleep. He was tall, six feet at least. His hair was shoulder length, and it looked like he had two or three blonde streaks on the left side, which was odd since they looked natural. He was still wearing his clothes from the battle, even though they were torn and bloody from Keller's attack. He looked as though he was the epitome of power at rest. Again, it was odd because Laurent said that he was nothing more than a plain human. No freaking way, he looked to powerful for that. He had to be something supernatural. "They say staring is quite rude," he said, she had been lost in her train of thought and had not noticed that he had woken up. "They say hitting on a total stranger is crass," Hope replied, sarcastically. "How about you tell me your name, I'll tell you mine, then we wont be strangers anymore," he smiled and winked at her. For some reason Hope found herself giving him her name, "Hope, Hope Nightshade." "Hope, what an interesting name. Almost like an omen saying your this worlds last Hope," she didn't like how he was saying this, because it felt almost true. "Anyway, my name is Caspian Wingtail. Call me Cas. How did you get in here, the door was locked and I doubt they gave you a key." "I have all access, and it's a rental scanner lock. Keys are out-dated and I'm sure you have lock-picking skills." "That I do, but have you noticed there is no scanner in this room?," he pointed this out to her and she began looking around wildly, while she was doing so he got up from the bed and moved towards her. He slid his good hand around the back of her neck and said, "Face it Hope, you're stuck here with me," she turned towards him, her eyes wide, then she took off towards the door and started pounding on it and yelling for help. After about a half hour of trying to get out of the room, she gave up and slid to the floor. "You done?," Cas asked her, she nodded miserably. "Good. Come here," he pat the hospital bed invitingly. She didn't move because she knew what she'd find. An uncomfortable, lumpy mattress and dangerous man who thought she looked pretty. Talk about a bad combination. "No thanks, I'm comfortable here," She smiled and he rolled his eyes. "Fine, then I'll come over there," He stood and walked towards her, cradling his broken wrist. "Jaz hurt you, didn't she?," She asked as she stood up. "Not so much, it was kind of just a bit of pressure. I just know that if it's not set correctly it'll never heal properly and in the long run, I can't afford that." "Alright, I- um- I guess I could try to set the bone," she began looking around for something to set it with. "I know your an angel-blood, Hope, just heal it," He held his wrist out to her and she moved towards the only object in the room, the bed. "What are you doing?," he was quite confused by her actions. "I have to be sitting when I heal, If I'm not I get light-headed and I faint. It's only happened once, but then again I've only ever tried to heal when I'm standing up once. I don't think its a good idea to faint when I'm trapped in a room with you." He shrugged, " At least you've got a sense of self preservation." She sighed, "Not one that's strong enough I guess, after all I made the mistake of trapping myself in here with you." "You'll learn to live with your decisions," He moved towards her and she began to heal him.
