Chapter 27

"Keller, are you sure you want to do this?" Ash asked his mate, when the door closed behind Dr. Phillips. Keller started to pace back and forth across the room, acting like the trapped wolf she really was. 

"Ash, at this point I'm not sure what I want. I just know that I need to do this otherwise nothing will ever work between us," Keller looked over her shoulder at him, her eyes glowing wolf-blue like they did when she was stressed.

"What do you mean 'nothing will ever work between us' ?"

"Ash, you know as well as I do that without actually trying to get along we're going to end up killing each other," She turned towards him "and if I don't try to live with you I'm going to rip your head off and that'll be the end of it for both of us," she was actually being serious. Keller really could rip his head off if she tried, even if she didn't mean to she could end up killing the both of them over a stupid argument.

"Kel, I know that," He was trying to calm her down because her eyes were still glowing and her claws were out. " but if we get into a situation that you're not ready for-"

"That I'm not ready for?," that got her angry.

"S**t, Wrong words again," Ash mumbled to himself "I- um... Well you see, what I meant by that is... um," he was trying to come up with a viable excuse that would get him out of trouble, "I got nothing," He shook his head, finally deciding anything he said would only get him into more trouble.

"That's right. And you're sleeping in the hall tonight," she pat his cheek and walked out of the room smiling.

"She's not even moved in yet and i'm already in the dog house," Ash grumbled to himself.

"I heard that!," Keller yelled.

"Damn wolf hearing," Ash said.

"And that too!"

Ash just walked out of the room and laughed to himself.
