Chapter 20

"Oh, um... I'm sorry," Hope stammered, she had walked in on two people kissing.

"That's fine. We.. um.." the girl spoke.

"Who are you?" the sandy-haired man asked, standing up from his chair.

"I..  I'm Hope." The girls eyes widened.

"Hope? Hope Nightshade?" She asked.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" Hope wondered aloud.

"I'm a seer, I have visions. The last time I talked to Keller it was in a vision, she said something about you being the only person who could heal her."

"If you don't mind me asking, who are you people?"

This time the man answered, "I'm Gallen, and this is my ma- Mist." Mist looked up at him, he was about six feet tall, she was about five and a half. 

"Gallen, I nee- " she started but was interrupted.

"Can you heal her?" a new voice said painfully.

"And who are you?" Hope asked.

"Ash." 

"Is that like Beyonce or Madonna?" he looked confused, so she clarified " No last name?"

He looked surprised " I have one, I just don't like to use it."

'' So is that who I'm supposed to heal?" Hope said indicating the girl on the hospital bed. Gallen and Mist left the room as soon as Ash nodded. Ash took the seat next to the bed and looked at Hope expectantly. "I've never actually healed anyone before."

"Have you ever tried?" Ash responded.

"Well.. no."

"Then you should try, she said you were the only one who could," He countered.

"Um.. all right." She walked towards Keller, and held her hands over Keller's chest. Nothing happened. So she tried something else, "Bane" She said her fathers name. Her hands started to glow in a golden light, Keller started to get color back in her skin, she started to cough and her eyes popped open. Hope pulled her hands away and Ash jumped up and held Keller close.

"Ash..." Keller coughed "Please get off me." Ash laid her back down slowly, but stayed seated on the side of her bed.

" I guess I'll leave you and your mate alone." Hope told Ash.

"Thank you," Ash said.

"Mate?" Keller asked, which struck Hope as odd. Didn't' she know Ash was her mate? but Hope left the room anyway.

Keller was laying down, getting her breathing under control. When she was in control she asked "What did she mean by 'mate'? ''

" You mean you don't know?" Ash asked, Keller shook her head, " Okay, Let me explain this as gently as I can. Do you know about wolves? I mean Real wolves, not werewolves."

"Not really."

"Well, wolves mate for life," Keller nodded. "So do most supernatural beings. Vampires, 'shifters, witches, fey, and werewolves.Fallen Angels are one of the few who don't. However, The Angel-bloods, their children, do."

"And what does this have to do with me?"

"I'm getting there," he continued "supernaturals have marks to identify they have a mate. It's a very intricate design with their mates' name written into it. The design won't appear until the mates meet each other," He braced himself for what he was about to tell her " And while you were in your wolf form fighting Lilly, I saw your mate mark."

"So who Is he?" Keller asked sitting up.

Ash Looked into her eyes, and said the one thing he was hoping she could figure out on her own. "Me."
