chapter 18

"Kaleo," Aubrey growled, pulling Jazlyn behind him. Ash picked up on Aubreys nervousness and took up guard in front of his unconscious mate.

"Hello, everyone," He smiled "I'd like to introduce Calla. So you know, and so I won't have to kill you, she's mine." He indicated a petite woman who looked about twenty, she was pale, had black hair so dark it looked almost blue in the light, she wore a purple gown that came down to the floor, It had multiple skirts, you could tell. 

"Grandmother, what are you doing here? Your kind is not welcome," Melissa said.

"That is where you are wrong child. This is a safe haven for all those who need it. And I do believe that the goal of these places is to get the Nine in one place, correct?"

"Yes, It is and we're doing a fine damn job without you!" Melissa yelled.
"Yeah, You are. Turning away one of the Nine. When you only just got him here, real smart kid." Kaleo smirked.

"Aww, Hell naw, there ain't a snowballs chance in hell that you're one of the Nine." Tom Said from his seat in the corner. 

" Well then, this snowball isn't going to melt because-" He got closer and whispered " I am"

" Would all of you just grow up!" Mist yelled from her  position next to the bed. " It's great that we have four of the Nine here! It's wonderful that we have the name of the angel-blood who can heal Keller, but none of it is going to matter if Lilly Kills Just one of us!"

"She's right." Calla said. Mist looked her up and down and decided.

"Calla could you come with me please? I think It's time for a wardrobe change." Mist said standing up to go to her room.

"But... Why? Is there something wrong with my dress?" Calla looked quite worried

"No, But It's not exactly conducive to possibly having to run for your life."

"But I can Blink, Does that not help the matter?" Calla had followed her out of the hospital room and into her suite.

"Blink? Oh you mean the kind that vampires do! where your one place once and then another the next?"

"Yes."

"Well i know powers drain so just in case you have to run." She pulled out a pair of skinny jeans, sneakers, and a t-shirt."Try these"

"But these are a mans' clothes!" Mist tried not to smile, it didn't work.

"No I bought them in the women's section, they should fit you. You can change in the bathroom." She pointed to a door. Ten minutes later Calla came back out, modernized. "That's much better. Now Lets go get Hope."
