Chapter 16A Chapter by Tess
Running. That's all he had time for now. Running from crazy-a*s vampire b*****s (only the ones who had a personal vendetta against him), running from his father, running from his mother, running from who he was. Running out of time.
Dex turned and Mist could see him clearly. Green eyes blazing, black hair tussled, his tall form twisting around at the sound of gunshots in the distance. He picked up the pace and kept running. ~~~~~~ Mist woke up to the sound of footsteps coming into Keller's room, she had apparently fallen asleep while waiting for her friend to regain consciousness. Not a good thing to do when you've just found out that your being hunted, Mist thought to herself. Someone who looked vaguely familiar walked into the room. He reminded her of somebody that she had once met but she couldn't get his name to surface. Therefore she didn't know if he was a threat to Kellers' well being or not. She took a defensive position in front a Keller. "Easy there, kitty. Wouldn't want to have to break you," He said with to easy a smile. Mist didn't relax her stance. "Leave. Now. Or else." Mist put as much authority into her voice as possible. The not-so-stranger cast her a sideways glance as he walked to the other side of Kellers' bed. Mist stepped in front of him. "Why would I leave? She's Mine." The possessiveness in his voice had Mist taking a few steps away from him, but she wasn't so scared as to leave Keller alone with someone she didn't know. "How is she yours? I see no tag that says 'If found return to overbearing...' What are you anyway?" "I'm a vampire, seer." He sat down in a chair next to the bed and placed Kellers' hand in his. "Is that a combination or..." "No. I'm the vampire, your the seer/human half-breed." He interrupted. "Uh huh. Anyway I don't see a tag that says 'if found return to overbearing vampire' on Keller." "That's because you don't need to see it." He said pointedly "Is that supposed to be a joke? It's not really that funny. Anyway who are you?" He looked towards her and gave her a great are-you-effing-kidding-me smirk. "No, it's not supposed to be a joke I am quite sincere. And I'm Ash, Kellers' mate." Oh. S**t. ~~~~~ "Mel, where are we going?" Tom asked. "You'll see soon enough." Mel Looked to the boy she'd grown to love and thought about what she was hired to do next. Thats' when she decided to take the left instead of the right. When she decided to go into hiding. She would need some powerful allies to pull off this one. Everyone knows who I am, what I look like, and who I hang with. They have to, I am the best hunter around, since Jazlyn laid down her stake to be with her sweetheart. Yuck! She thought to herself. She turned left and drove a few miles, then pulled up to a tree that wasn't really a tree, and got out of the car. She walked over and pressed a knot on the tree that looked insignificant enough but she knew exactly what it was. A call box. A crackling voice came through on the old speaker "Name please?" "Melissa Drake and Thomas Blake." Mel smiled at how their names sounded next to each other, that might be when she realized that she didn't just love him, but that she was in love with him. "Miss Drake, please get back in your car, we'll lower the vehicle to the garage." mel walked back and closed the door just as they were being lowered down. ~~~~~~ "Would Jazlyn Blake, Aubrey Quinn, and one of the Nines' unassigned doctors please report to the garage?" A voice spoke over the intercom. Jaz looked to Aubrey and they both said it at the same time "Tommy." _________
