Chapter 14

" Hey there," Gallen smiled, as Mist woke up.

"Where am I?" Mist questioned.

"The medical ward of safe house 13." Jazlyn supplied from the doorway. " Don't worry, Keller's safe. So's Ash. Your the first conscious, Congratulations." 

"The doctor said Keller just needs time to regain her energy, you can go visit her as soon as we get you off the patient list. Ash got a concussion so he might be out for a while, but I'm not to sure you'd want to visit him anyway. After all, you think he's the one who got Keller into this mess." Aubrey glared at his fiance from the chair in the corner of the room. 

" Out of curiosity, did you see anything about my brother or Gallens' for that matter? " for the first time Jazlyn actually looked like a worried sibling compared to a deadly vampire hunter. 

" It depends. Gallen is your brother tall, strongly built with black hair and green eyes?" Mist looked to Gallen then to Jazlyn and watched as her face fell with the news that she had not seen her brother. 

" That's him. Where is he?" Gallen answered

" That I don't know, but he is running." Mist sat up. A woman walked in. 

"How are you feeling, Miss La-Fey?" the others left the room, Aubrey stayed sitting in the corner.

"Alright." Mist supplied 

"Good. Now I have a few questions and then we can sign you right out." The woman smiled "Okay, are you a half-breed or a full blood?"

"I-I don't..." Mist started.

"She's a half-breed, doctor Ross." Aubrey said from the corner.

" Okay, are you one of the nine?" 

"What?" 

"We-" Aubrey started.

"Sush, Aubrey. Let the girl talk" Doctor Ross said, turning her attention back to Mist.

" I don't know what that is." Mist answered.

"Okay, your free to go. Aubrey can i talk to you?" Doctor Ross said walking out the door.
