Chapter 6

" What are you doing ? " Ash leaned into the support of the tree behind him.

" Something I told you I wouldn't . " Keller said placing a hand on his arm .

" Keller ,you can't . " Ash begged .

" I can , besides you rember what you said don't you ? , " She looked at him and smiled . " You said 'unless i'm dying and your the only non-vampire around i won't bite you , '" She quoted him. "but right now i need you , like you said we don't know my fighting style , i don't know where we're going but you do . So i'm telling you now , do what you have to do to get me somewhere safe . " She shifted her legs so she was no longer sitting on her feet ,but leaning on her hip and hand . Ash closed his eyes and sighed .

" Fine . " His eyes popped open , they were glowing that unnatural silver again . " Come here. " He patted the ground directly next to him . She stood up and walkd to where he was . " This , this might hurt a little . " He stumbled over his words . Keller sat next to ash and he gripped her waist with one hand and brushed her brown hair off her shoulder with the other . " You know what your doing, right ?"

" Um , no actually i don't . You see i've never let a vampire drink my blood before . "

" Right . Here's what you need to know . This won't turn you , it won't bind you , but you might feel the need to sleep while i'm drinking . Don't sleep , you'll die . While I'm drinking there will be a mental connection , feel free to use it . "

" Right , okay won't turn , won't bind , don't sleep ,and use the mental connection at will . " She laughed , a little nervous .

" I won't hurt you , Keller . " He promised them lifted her into his lap . " I need better acess to the -uh - vein . " he smiled .

" Stop being a flirt , and bite before I lose my nerve . " She scowled at him .

" Has anyone ever told you you're sexy when you're angry ? " He laughed when she growled at him . He finially gave up and bit into her neck as the blood rushed into his mouth he tasted something new , something he'd only ever heard about before , and only from vampires older than 17 centuries . For the first time he tasted blood that was sweet . And only one persons blood would ever taste like this , if she died he'd never taste blood this good again . Kellers blood was so good he wanted to moan , he couldn't she'd hear it and run . She'd run from him , from her future , from her life .
