Godmother

Godmother

A Poem by Terry Lynn
"

Written after the passing of my young Godmother

"

Just yesterday you were here

Wispering in my ear

Sharing your knowledge

Of all I needed to hear

Now you're gone

Gone from this life

And I ponder

How to live mine right

This game of life

How it hurts to play

The cost of love

When another can't stay

And my own mortality

I must now face

To accept the terms

Of my own fate

Hoping to improve upon

And grow from within

To be like you

And finally win

To ascend to where we'll meet again

But until I do

I painfully miss you
