Knowing of your misgivings

I still felt what you were providing

I was able to close my eyes for a while

To open them and still see your smile

Suddenly I felt nothing from you

I closed my eyes

Your smile disappeared

You were the partner to defeat my apathy

My villainous apathy seems to have won

Without you to guide me

All the walls have been rebuilt

With no obstruction to their rising

Apathy now sits comfortably in an increasing fortress

From high on this throne I can no longer see you

Let alone feel you at my side
