Avert the disaster

Avert the disaster

A Poem by Mariam

I saw circus elephants gather together, trumpet and cry,

Embracing my waist with long trunks, they wanted to pry

Whether I was fonder or kinder than their cruel master.

Poor animals thought cuddling a woman averted disaster…

for men it does u know
I love elephants such beautiful and gentle animals. Such a shame anyone would ever be cruel to them. Cuddling a woman I wonder, if it did give them security. Very beautiful here.

Thanks for reading and your nice review) It also reminds me of Kipling's book.
Beautiful... That always breaks my heart, seeing animals out of their elements, being badly treated for the amusement of spectators. You captures something special with these words, thank you for sharing.
