Defection

Defection

A Poem by Mariam

Am I mad?

She asked deaf skies above.

Those dregs who claim to be in love,

Neither need faith, nor your holy embrace.

Why do you torture us, sending misfortunes…

Why do you please, bringing release…

Satan you are, two-faced perfection!

But I’m too meek to think of defection.

This is amazing poetry. I like the questions and the struggle in the poem.
"Why do you torture us, sending misfortunes…
Why do you please, bringing release…"
I believe we are tested to see what we may do. I like the above lines a lot. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
