Return to meA Poem by Tena LuvsAs an adult there is no denying that we all escape back to those moments of our childhood that made us happiest most
Return to me those quiet nights with fleeting memories of nostalgia.
Return to me memories of the warm summer air. Memories of youth and innocence. Return to me the sounds of laughter from my mother and father. Return to me those moments of pure bliss with no heartbreak to mend. Return to me the rainbow flowing at the end of every rainfall. Return to me the sweet kisses from grandma as she finally finishes praying before bed. Return to me those silent nights of summer with our windows ajar as crickets sang through the night while our tiny bodies lay against each other falling asleep . Return to me the sounds of my father muffled sound in the living room as the sounds of my mothers dishes clicking in the sink. Return to me when we all drank our soda on the porch and shared our penny candies. Return to me the sound of your laughter before we all grew apart. Return to me real innocent friendship where we’d stay up all night outside in the grass laughing. Return to me all my friends that I will never see again. Return to me all that use to belong.. © 2023 Tena LuvsAuthor's Note
