Loving By Letting Go

Loving By Letting Go

A Poem by Tessa Melendez

I'm focusing on loving by letting go.
I can't take the heart of someone who's meant for more.
You have to see what's really in store,

I'm finishing up my piece,
Getting ready to wash my hands,
Dust off my jeans,
And finally lie down in peace.

I can't love you the way I'd like anymore.
If I could, I'd be with you.
But there's nothing more to do.
Just smile for me genuinely before I go.
