Black Magic Lies In Wait

Black Magic Lies In Wait

A Poem by Tessa Melendez

Black magic lies in wait
beneath most every action we take,
The con artist we must battle each day,
Fighting to make good headway.

But, little do we know,
How easily black magic can show
and take over when we least expect it,
Changing our minds and choices,
The tones of our voices,

Making a new person within the old one.
Someone who hungers for power,
Someone to make into a home,
Try to control.
Digging a deeper hole.

And they may never know.
Because, that's black magic.
