Dancing In The Rain

Dancing In The Rain

A Poem by Tessa Melendez

As I wake up today,
The sky is crying again.
Why is it that the sky cries so beautifully,
while I cry painfully, silently?

The skies...the indifferent color: gray.
The rain falling in peaceful chaos.
Cool, wet, calm.
Outside I go, barefoot.
Feel the growth of the earth,
The gleeful response
with meditative eyes...
Closed
Feel with the heart.
And breathe the deepest sigh.

Commune with the sullen, shivering sky.
The patter of raindrops on the earth, leaves, trees.
Make partial peace with pain
Because we all know that pain leaves no one the same.

Dance and cleanse oneself in the sky's tears,
Bask in the awakening cold,
reminding yourself that...
To feel,
To experience,
Is to be alive.
To open one's heart should take time.
And remember that no life,
No beauty,
Can exist without some rain.

I wrote this one based on a prompt I saw on Instagram suggesting four different things. I feel I covered two. Try to see if you can figure out where I covered two topics.
