Withdrawal

Withdrawal

A Poem by 「tell me true」
"

Something I wrote while going through my withdrawals from my meds.

"

It's the aching throb

The flow of too much blood

It's the chemical imbalance

The sight of your own vertigo

It's the body aches

The crying, trembles and shakes

It's the pain of wanting more

The need to have it in my veins

It's the changing thought pattern

The urge to be covered in crimson silk

It's the need to have them feel your misery

The realization that you're truly alone

It's called a withdrawal

And it's slowly killing me

By killing myself.

Author's Note

「tell me true」
So, I know it doesn't flow very well to some people but it's how I feel.

I personally don’t think that ALL poems MUST “flow”. To me, if the writing makes me think, or makes me get a feel of what the writer is saying, then it’s worth the read. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the café.
