Hummingbird

Hummingbird

A Poem by Alice Aspen

They flit around my life.
They don't say a word.
Going around their business.
In their own little world.
I can't get too close.
But I can't get too far.
I yearn to see them.
But not them behind bars.
They draw me towards
Small and fast
But if i draw too near
They never last.
As beautiful as can be.
But sometimes they are just too hard to see.
