Declaration

Declaration

A Poem by tekphobik
"

Rejecting one's own humanity

"
If you asked me who I loved, I would answer, "Everyone."
If you demanded me to admit who I hate, the answer is the same.
I have one foot in hell,
I can't let go of heaven,
And my body is bound to mother Gaia.
My lack of full commitment to any master
Has made me the emperor of myself;
And this tearing in every direction that I endure
Is my punishment and my blessing.
The righteous will condemn,
The condemned will scorn,
This is the transformation from man to beast
For the only truth I have ever found
Lies in the innocence absolute of untamed creature.
And all I want, my only true desire,
Is to be able to fly to the sun without the feathers scorching or the wax melting.
I shall honour the truth I feel from within until it destroys me,
Because all I crave is honesty,
And that is nowhere to be found in a world of men.

I identify strongly ... Clawing for truth in this mess, somehow unwilling to 'let go of heaven', in rejection of self and the swarm with 'one foot in hell' ... And this degradation of 'innocence', restriction to 'Gaia', and, of course, this profound 'craving' ... It's all very unsettling, but rightfully exposed by its author. Your 'Declaration' is heard.

Can relate. Can't get over your poetry, usually something changes day to day but this is still beautiful

I adore how your own declaration is so seemingly similar in the passion. I rather adore this you. Its very easy to relate to your pain on such a deep and layered level. I do hope that one day you find peace from this.

Trying to live a life with truth all around is difficult and at times dangerous. Nice poem
