A love sonet

A love sonet

A Poem by willthepoet
"

This is a basic love poem, written in Sonnet format

"
She's so beautiful-so magnificent.
Her hair's dark brown, and crinkles at the ends.
She talks with a lisp, and smiles bashfully.
Her gaze is deep, penetrating, but gleams.

Everything about her is special.
Her expression of love is sensuous.
I love it when she touches my bare hand,
rubbing my palms with her soft fingertips.

She's free of bounds, but full of mysteries.
Full of secrets, and things I can't describe.
Full of passion, full of love, full of joy.
Which she reveals to me in slow lingers.

Everything seemed so perfect, so clear,
until the day she left me all alone...

what's interesting willthepoet is that there is no basic love poems. At least not those
written in the 21st century that display even the basic precepts of love, that is, what 100 years ago
would have stood as instruct to all preconceived notions of honor, till death. My granddad
met my grandma in middle school, they married right after high school and stayed married
for the next 55 years. It doesn't happen much that way anymore. Not with the challenges
of health and wealth, finance and the temptation of infidelity. In fact, I felt an old flavor
to this poem. Not old antiquated but old clairvoyant and nostalgic.

well done.......dana
