Smile To God With A Nail In Hand

Smile To God With A Nail In Hand

A Poem by ((Teenage_Poet_Loser))
"

Smile is a call to help...

"

She said it was her very first smile,

an action of proverbial disorder -

did she know the life after death?

The questions float on top of a bunch

of dead roses, left to die by life.

Such a small thing, life a mere

gesture to smile, to walk, to talk,

and to kill. And so many dead.

There is a fascination with killing

roses in the public, the more you

look the easier it gets, don't.

Words are mere words with lines

at the end of each.

God, God, God! Are you there?

The smile of a girl, the smile.

Pure in action, death in mind, this

is a call to help, but a tale of

mischief, a game played by children.

God, are you there? This is a shout

to call for help, a dead rose in hand,

a smile on her face and a broken nail,

God...

Interesting, intriguing, and compelling your poems usually are :) This stood out to me: "There is a fascination with killing roses in the public, the more you look the easier it gets, don't." I love the symbolism behind these lines. To me these lines mean that the more you watch evil being done you become immuned to it. Don't do it. I like the way God is being called in it and the smile is a sign for help. I haven't ever thought of it that way, but its true it often is.

It's very deep and thought invoking. I think.... I like it and it really make me wonder about my faith in god. You did a wonderful job. Nice write. I really like the first two lines..... for more reasons than one.
