This is my prayer I close my eyes Shut I open my mind not my mouth This is my only prayer I say it aloud But no one hears it This is my last prayer Lord can you hear me? I fall down in front of You Lord, this is my prayer: "Forgive me Lord" A golden tear roll down my face Hitting the floor It turns to a cold red
Not many people are moved by prayer anymore, I know sometimes I even lack the feeling behind my prayer and it sometimes feels as though its a simple inner monologue within my mind, but this piece captures the wonderfulness, the power, the spirit of prayer. In this day in age it takes a lot to get someone moved enough to really pray hard if they ever pray at all.
I was told on more than one occasion that God is always with you, that through prayer you talk to him. Imagine him next to you, following you throughout your day yet you speak not a word to him...just food for thought.
Beautiful. It truly shows the power of prayer, and you crafted your words so.. flawlessly (as always..) and again, a simplistic poem with simple words a a strong meaning, it really packed a punch.. Well done! (I always feel cliche when I say that but I feel like it is really kind of perfect)
The power of prayer! You made me feel the strength & power of prayer! Very well written Jaco!
Lord, this is my prayer:
"Forgive me Lord"
Something we all do in our lives! To me this was the most empowering statement! When we feel the peacefulness of forgiveness!
Great write Jaco, don't stop your talent!
There is so much packed into this piece. I can feel the pain of crying out, cold, alone. "Lord, forgive me...." - such a plaintive cry. Mournful. The beginning of the end....
