Foggy skies- A colaboration with Ana SophiaA Chapter by Thayle L.A product of pairing up poetry.
Is it easier for you than it was for me
I thought my generation had complications Much worse than those of Parents and Grandparents But the skies are blue, if a little foggy, And I am happier this way. You say your generation was harder When you had to walk to school. Social pressures are still all there The right clothes, having the right hair Cigarettes, drugs, bullies and thugs All part of the inner city charm People may do things to others to be cool But in your time war was the danger, And that is a far greater foe than gangs or drugs. Is music your escape, with headphones on Track after track, Keeping life on track All the while trying to make the grade. Music is just noise, filtered in the right way You had war and famine, The constant threat of being bombed. I traded nothing for safety. If I envied you, old man, I'd be the fool Is it easier today than it was for me Publicly documented social interactions Predators with sophisticated tools If I envied you kid, I'd be the fool. © 2015 Thayle L.Author's Note
