Beautiful night

Beautiful night

A Chapter by Thayle L.
"

Anyone can read, but older people may see deeper meaning

"
In the dark, there is always a light,
But which, I ask you, is right?

The clock ticks, money is might.
The number hits 2000, we are eager to fight
Turn back time, and you will see
How much happier we could be.

for every up, there is a down.
For every city there is a town.
Progress is forwards, no going back,
But what did we put out of whack?

No, you say, it's quite alright,
For I have my corporate might.
Evolution took our dark,
Now the light is free as a lark.

You may be right, I say,
After all, I just have to stay.
I just have to wait, the tech does it all,
And I can call more, in case of a stall

Yes, you say,
That's the way
All we have to do is stay.
We sit here, in the light,
And let tech abolish the beautiful night

Technology is ruining little things. This is a simple and strong piece. The repetitions are small and make this stronger. Sometimes it works.

Yes, I guess I'm 'older' but not very old. I do remember the whole buzz around Y2K very well.
Everyone thought the world would shut down. It's funny though isn't it? Looking back now.
I wonder if Y3K will be the same, or will we even get there?

Older people may see a deeper meaning, I'm not touchng that one. I see many meanings though in your words...this was very cool.
