STRANDEDA Poem by TRISHA PRASADJust inspired by a small incident that took place during a recent tripHere I am, Stranded in the middle of nowhere Looking around while sitting in my car Searching for a road that leads somewhere I panic as I think of thoughts so bizarre. I have my windows rolled down and the music loud Trying to figure out where exactly I went wrong I am so confused my mind`s like a raging storm cloud Wishing that reading a map was easy as learning a song. I am still looking around and can`t seem to find a road All I see are growing trees and the open sky For once I wished I was Lazing around at my abode Yet here I am stranded in the hill really high. Suddenly my car slows down and stops I look and find that it`s an empty tank I am struck with fear as my heart drops I find myself stranded by a river bank. There seemed to be no way out The river bank was the dead end I move out and sigh as I see a trout As it jumps and swims with a friend. I forget that it is no fun to be alone Travelling around without a comrade To be stranded in a place unknown with a friend wouldn`t be as bad © 2016 TRISHA PRASAD |
