Papa

Papa

A Poem by mila

I can never hate you.

I can never say that I want you gone.

No matter how many times

You makes us cry,

I can’t seem to feel anger towards you.

You’re so harsh,

You never help

Even when you can.

You never try to make things better.

Your stupid pride

Always blinds you.

You know you do wrong

But you never apologize.

I may handle these things,

But she can’t.

I won’t give up on you,

But she can.

Ah, Papa! It is hard for girls to hate their fathers and you are right 'I may handle these things', but Mama?
It is so sad how many wives have to leave their spouses. I feel sorry for the children. But, as you imply in your very moving, bitter-sweet poem, children are resilient. Well done for writing this poem. Did the lady in the poem actually leave?

Thank you so much! And no the lady, in this case the mother, hasn't left.
