Dogwood SpringA Poem by Richard WilliamsA beautiful tree welcomes spring. We came upon a dogwood tree in back of winter sting; it hinted at a bright return along the front of spring. It stands above a waterfall to drink the morning mist; there’s urgent flow and ample splash where ice once made a fist. Upon the hillside draped in brush this dogwood tree abides; anon the beauty will appear when all of spring resides. There is the feel of light and hope as evergreens abound; in budding bloom the dogwood tree adorns the winter brown. When March concludes a gentle lamb provides the vernal link; beyond the frigid winds that pass thrives awesome white and pink. We came upon a dogwood tree and felt the urge to sing; now each fine flower in the sun applauds the voice of spring. © 2011 Richard WilliamsReviews
