November's Day

November's Day

A Poem by Richard Williams
"

For November and Thanksgiving.

"

Thanksgiving is November's trust
revealed like honor through an open door;
yearly gratitude, not unlike the day
progress appeared on every pilgrim's lip;
the hunter's cornucopia, tonight
Orion casts his star-shine to and fro,
pumpkin pies, an apple cider heap,
hot chocolate, a need for sourdough;
America to shining sea...
November nods and winks at Halloween.
