Castle Keep

Castle Keep

A Poem by Richard Williams
"

A sonnet in the castle.

"

I’ll build you a castle with poetry

high on a peak overlooking my soul;
meter on mountain, I give it to thee
for such is the love that maketh me whole.

You speak like a sonnet of lucid streams
and you walk with grace like angels in flight;
alight in my castle, nurture your dreams
on rhythms of time, the poet’s delight!

I’ll draw you a bridge to carry you on
o’er unsound syllables cast in the moat;
you are the iamb that poets are fond
conveyed in a song or poetry quote.

    And so for my love, intentions renew:
    joy in my heart and a castle for you.
