deciding upon importance

deciding upon importance

A Poem by Kevin McKenna

I feel I've been here before. Stuck between false starts and false finishes. Grasping at clouds that are disappearing with the summer breeze. I'm talking to walls, and smiling at windmills. Friends are like butterflies; whittling their way in and out, forever beautiful. And I'm stuck with this pen in my hand and a blank page in front of me. For f***s sake won't this page just fill itself up with the thoughts that whirl through my mind. I can't make a decision because there are too many important ones to make, and I can't decide which is the most important.

HAHA, nice use of humor in contrast to frustration. I love the line, "For f***s sake won't this page just fill itself up with the thoughts that whirl through my mind." Man, how true. I also really like the line, "once this pen starts itself working; I'll be golden." Pure truth from within. I also like your prose poem style. It makes your writing more unique, I think.
