Finding Silence

Finding Silence

A Poem by team-sophie

Today I tried to find silence,

And failed miserably.

Away from the traffic,

Playing voices of kinds outside,

And murmurs of a TV.

I waited still and alone,

In the hope that,

It would come creeping in.

But the static in my ears,

Seemed to scare it away.

yet again very nice read for me the last line did deliver the poem home I did feel like this could have been a stanza in a longer poem but im not really a reader thats into short poetry. The concept is amazing though the search for silence in a world full of noise.

I LOVE it. The last line especially is brilliant. "But the static in my ears seemed to scare it away." Nothing short of amazing!!

I know exactly this feeling and you portrayed it very simply and clearly. Very to the point and obvious and that last line, wow, I absolutely adore it and I am going to quote you. Brilliant.
