Dusk

Dusk

A Poem by team-sophie

The trees and houses go,

Leaving their black silhouettes,

Against the green dusk sky,

Like sharp paper cut-outs.

The silence grows steadily,

With each departing car.

On the road a streetlight,

Bursts to life in flickers,

Screaming into watching eyes,

Before settling down for the night.

The city below glows softly,

Into deep skies above,

Like a lamp at a bedside,

Dying embers in a fire.
