glide

glide

A Poem by Matthew

straight connect
over fuzzy wires
meeting where you left
and i could never understand
this silence crawling
all over the night
leaving its touch on every
man, woman and child
doubt is stripped away
when i see your smile
purged from this sadness
on which it had taken root
this infinite sadness
left idle for too long
i cut it with your eyes
and watch it bleed all
of these sad little poems
i'd be lying if i said
i were true
im exposed
and you understand
like the darkness i've felt
that lives in you
as hard as this is
i'll stick with the neon
glow soft touch of smoke
curling up antique cathedral
steps where, inside, god
created all of this sadness
for us to pick apart
and breathe in

This is written with precision...quite raw yet stark as the light.

i'd be lying if i said
i were true
im exposed

I almost feel the melancholy oozing from this piece.
A nice read....Thanks for sharing...

love
