Hundreds of people are grieving today

Because of a problem that won't go away.

Attempts at solutions are kept at bay.

A mass shooting in Buffalo.

America's love affair with its guns--

Weapons that could be measured in tons--

Is killing parents, daughters, and sons.

A shooting--this time in Buffalo.

Just imagine: you go to the store.

A killer abruptly appears at the door.

Within minutes you're dead on the floor.

This time it happened in Buffalo.

The killer set out to perforate

Bodies with bullets because of hate.

For the ten who died, help came too late

In a mass shooting in Buffalo.

Too many people are killed each year.

Not to act makes one thing clear:

We will continue to live in fear.

Look what happened in Buffalo.

The bells are tolling repeatedly.

When might they toll for you or me?

When the next killer goes on a spree--

Just like the one in Buffalo…

And Sacramento (2022)…

And Boulder (2021)…

And El Paso (2019)…

And Parkland (2018)…

And Las Vegas (2017)…

And Orlando (2016)…

And Charleston (2015)…

And at Sandy Hook (2012)…

We will never get the government we need until we first take money out of politics and second stop voting against our own self interests. We have three political parties in our country. Democrats, Republicans, and Corporate Elites. The third is the worst because they exist in both parties and are a growing number. These type of politicians are there to serve Corporate interests as well as their own greedy needs. Sinema is an example of one. For years money has corrupted our politics in pernicious ways. They refuse to do anything about anything because doing so takes away these wedge issues that allow for them to be continously elected. Every election cycle it's the same tired issues that are killing us and still not being resolved. From Healthcare to individual rights. Why? Because if we actually work to solve issues there would be no money made from it. It is in the interest of Corporate America to have us divided so they can keep raising prices and stealing us blind. They pull the strings on everything. They get richer while we kill each other. Time to cut the strings or we will be the cause of our own demise.
