What? Another indictment in Trumpworld?

How could anyone be surprised?

In Trump's realm, crime and corruption

Have become quite normalized.

This time it is Thomas Barrack.

Of course, he's made a not-guilty plea,

Denying the charges of acting as

An agent for the UAE.°

Barrack is now the eleventh Trump

Associate, who since twenty fifteen

Has been charged with federal crimes.

This time Trump can't intervene

And dangle a pardon in front of him--

Something he's been known to do.

He has other challenges now

Since he couldn't pull off his coup.

Every day the world discovers

More of what Trump's all about.

And why people STILL support him

Is difficult to figure out.

Currently as “scandal inflation.”

Scandal after scandal has made

The weary public become inured

To further scandals. The lines between

Right and wrong are now obscured.

Integrity or deceitful corruption--

Some people prefer the latter.

And many turn their heads and pretend

That certain crimes just do not matter.

All the more reason the U.S. needs

Leaders who put their country before

Their greed and own self-interests.

Grift and corruption, nevermore!

Indifference, my friend. It is why we are in the situation we find ourselves in. No one cares for anyone but themselves. The rich now own our political system and the laws no longer apply to them. While people of color are murdered with impunity by law enforcement and their right to vote slowly being taken away because of a lie. Barrack will get minimum time if at all, he will drag this out in court for years only to be pardoned by the next republican president. And he will have walked away making billions from the UAE serving them illegally by having shaped our foreign policy to their benefit. Hundreds of thousands dead, hundreds of thousands homeless, and people fighting over crumbs while we elect garbage human beings into our government to make over 200 thousand annually and serve their corporate masters will. A large swath of our populace is ignorant racist and greedy. When a man dying of covid can say on TV proudly he doesn't want to be vaccinated and that it's all fake news that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about our society. They stand for nothing and will fall for anything. Like Drumph says....sad.
