Spurious Argument

Ay ay ay ay ay!

 

They say that Dana Rohrabacher* of California,

While attending a conference for climate-change deniers,

Quoted a coal mine owner from Kentucky

Who had made an “argument” for climate-change decriers.

 

The “argument” states that Earth and Mars

Have the SAME temperatures, which goes to show

That since Mars has NO coal mines,

That definitely proves to us that there’s NO

 

Connection between climate change on Earth

And the negative results of human activity.

Hmmm. If Rohrabacher buys that B S,

Then gullibility’s his general proclivity.

 

First, a conference for climate-change deniers?

Whom could they find to do their bidding?

The conference itself is crazy enough.

But their foolish argument! You’ve got to be kidding!

 

MINUS eighty-one degrees Fahrenheit

Is the AVERAGE temperature on Mars. Okay?

On Earth it’s PLUS FIFTY-SEVEN degrees.

THAT is quite a difference, I’d say.

 

Their failure to look at facts before them--

Their completely absurd and bold defiance--

Tells us that too many people out there

Flatly received an “F” in science.

 

Politicians like Dana Rohrabacher

And some of the other anti-science snobs

Cause one to wonder in amazement:

Is IGNORANCE a requirement for their jobs?
