Poets in the Dark

Poets in the Dark

A Poem by Talia

Poets in the dark
Just want to be
Only to scratch a spark
So we can finally see

While the world is fast asleep
We have traveled too deep
Cause to us the night is young
And with a slip of the tongue
Our pen plunges onto the page
To unleash our fears and tears and rage

Poets in the dark
Want to be heard
With an exclamation mark
At the end of every word

Lovers can’t compare to a poets passion
Filled with care and compassion
But our hearts are painted black
For worrying about what we lack
Silence is the loudest screams
But we get lost in wild dreams

Poets in the dark
Get lost in a void
Trying to leave our mark
Cause we feel paranoid

In the dark…

Very nice. "cant compare to the passions" of poets. I like that, there is certainly an energy there. Thank you for sharing. You play with passion and how it can sway from inspiration to the carnal and back again. Yet always visceral.

Wow, I love the lines "Poets in the dark/ Want to be heard/ With an exclamation mark/ At the end of every word".

Great write, you effectively captured what so many of us have feel when we are trying to communicate our thoughts onto paper.
