Dare to DreamA Poem by TaliaA poem about not giving up
I have a dark and painful past
I'm looking demons in the eye This standoff can no longer last They'll be watching me until I die But I'm not six feet under I'm not pushing up daisies yet And now I can't help but wonder If I'm stuck playing Russian roulette And I just want to scream But still, I'll dare to dream Know they will hear your voice You'll be passing shadows by And remember that it's your choice Whether you stay to fight or fly Bleed your heart out on the page But you're not done writing yet Your brain is trapped within a cage With a roar they won't forget And you just want to scream But still, you'll dare to dream To think how badly we've been burned And how deep these cuts and scars go To think of how our luck has turned Even though these times feel so slow And our patience is running thin But still, we haven't given up yet Waiting for a new chapter to begin Getting lost in Romeo and Juliet And we just want to scream But still, we'll dare to dream © 2020 Talia |
