Can you catch me?
I feel like I'm falling
Faster than ever before
My feet have failed me
Come here my darling
You are all I adore
Go ahead and pinch me
Cause I must be dreaming
I think I'm out of my mind
Do my eyes deceive me?
Your smile is gleaming
So lovely and so kind
Will you hold me?
As tight as you can?
I could almost feel
Your arms around me
I can't wait for this to be real
You're a one in a million man
Lean in and kiss me
my heart skips a beat
You're utterly unpredictable
But that's alright with me
Your words are so sweet
With a voice that's irresistible
Tell me you love me
The best feeling in the world
You're the cutest thing
Knowing that you love me
I am the luckiest girl
So listen to my heart sing
Your words grab attention, the phrasing is light but not at all plippant, they're emotional but not over-dramatic. Most of all your words seem to smile at every pause and, that matters in a poem about love and need. Many thank yous for sharing, Talia. Take care, keep happy.
This writing is pure poetry! I really liked the beginning, calling for a hero, not just a lover, and the literal sense of falling calls for the reflex to catch. The use of questions instead of word direction gave the poem extra power than what could have been, like
"Will you hold me?
As tight as you can?"
I long knew writing in the present is more powerful than the past, but you've shown me here that writing in a rather futuristic way can be alluring as well. So many great lines. This was so wonderfully explained and expressed. tyfs
The stand-out ingredient in your poem is ENTHUSIASM LIKE A CHILD! Hardly anyone writes this way, being able to convey that uninhibited balls-out desire & delight in another person. Our world has gone so woefully in the other direction! It takes a lot of trust to love this wholeheartedly & people are afraid to trust, I would venture to say. Everyone longs to be embraced wholeheartedly & this reminds us how that looks, sounds, & feels. Thanks to emipoemi for read-requesting me so I could find you here at the cafe (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
