It is not as though I think of you often

It is not as though I think of you often

A Poem by tcpaessler

it is not as though I think of you often

or find a stray thought of you

lingering outside the door of my consciousness

that I remember you upon my bed

or that a smell or taste or sight

bring you suddenly into being

I do not catch myself

absently caught in your image

It is not as though I think of you often

but indeed I never stop

you have become something primal in me, lover

like the taking and passing of a breath

I whisper your name like a secret

and even in my deepest dreams

my most private moment

even from myself, you are there

charming, and haunting

the intensity of this person's love is unparallelled. reading this poem feels like i'm getting into someone's mind where i shouldn't be because it is very personal and i feel guilty for being privy to his secrets. if someone wrote this for me i'd be swept off my feet.

emotive and beautiful. the sentiment is sweet and touching. i do feel that it could benefit from some clarifying punctuation.

This is beautifully written with some great lines. Something I suspect we could all relate to at some time. Well done.

I like the poem. I do understand the words. Some people will always be with us. We may desire to escape their memory. No weakness in this outstanding poem.
