JUST THINKING

I once had a thought

Original thought

As new as new thought

Could be.

But as I was thinking

It got me to thinking

Who’s done this same thinking

Before me?

Maybe DaVinci

Wright Brothers pair

Or Newton under

A tree.

Ten years ago, no,

More like a hundred

Why even way back

In B.C.

This bad thought attacked

Destroying the first; yes

Gave it a

Death-dealing blow.

The shame of it is

New thought went unshared.

Original?

I’ll never know.

Are there really any original thoughts? Or just new spins on them?
