![]() The Man in The MirrorA Poem by J. M. YearyI stand there Looking at the mirror
The man taunts me
Taunts me with eyes
That pierce my soul
Who are you, what have you become?
I have no answer…
I stand there
Naked against the truth
That beckons me
Yet, he stares deeply
Into my soul
Waiting…waiting for words
Still I have no answers
For whom I am, What I have become?
I hang my head
In shame, I am lost
Despair wraps around me
Its cloak of blackness
I feel no hope…all is gone
With courage and hope
I raise my head
Still I have no answers
For the eyes that look back
At what I have become
The answers will come
When? I don’t know…
Somehow, somewhere…I suppose
When least expected...maybe
Or perhaps, time...after all is said...who knows?
