(At the Holden resident)

 

Lilly: (Sitting at the table with the boys and her husband) so boys, how was your day?

 

Brandon: (Cutting his steak) It was fine, just a usual day for me

 

Haden: Well, I finally decided where to go for collage

 

Lilly: (Wipes her lips) that’s great, so you’re going with your idea to be a doctor?

 

Haden: Nope, I decided to go for a vet; Taylor said she was going for that, so I decided it couldn’t be as a hard as being a doctor

 

Josh: OOOO Haden and Taylor, sitting in a tree…

 

Haden: (blushes) Shut up Josh (Picks at his peas)

 

Josh: Oh come on Haden, everyone knows you like her (Puts potatoes on his plate)

 

Lilly: Josh please, look Haden, if vet is what you like, then me and your father support you, Right dear?

 

Cole: (Looks up from his newspaper) Hmm? Oh of course we support you son, at least one of you has decided on a future

 

Josh: Hey :(, what’s the big idea? I decided on a future, a biologist, I just need to finish my courses

 

Brandon, and I own like 6 nightclubs remember?

 

Cole: Yes, and their all great, but your taking after your uncles, and grandfather, your brother on the other hand, has chosen one outside this family

 

Lilly: Denis how was your day?

 

Denis: Fine, still trying to find a place for our band to play (Playing with his food)

 

Brandon: Why don’t you just give up Denis? And find something better to do with your boring single life

 

Denis: At least I don’t treat girls like trash

 

Brandon: Meaning?

 

Denis: How many girls did you date this month? 5? Or was it 6?

 

Haden: (Eating his beans) Well it was actually 7 but who’s counting (Smirks)

 

Brandon: Well, (Puts his utensils down) before I kill one of you, I have to get to work (Kisses his mom’s cheek) later losers

 

Lilly: Wait, Brandon (Grabs onto his wrist) why don’t you let Denis and his band play at one of your clubs?

 

Brandon: (Stares at Denis) would you like to little dennie?

 

Denis: Don’t ever call me that, and sure why not

 

Brandon, alright then, you can try tonight, Meet me at the club at 7:30, you can go on at 8

 

Denis: Fine, I will call Jackie and Sam; Excuse me (Leaves the table)

 

Haden: Thanks for supper mom, it was awesome (Kisses her cheek) don’t wait up for me, me and Tay are going to the movies

 

Cole: Have fun, And Brandon, if I ever catch you stealing your brothers Cologne, I will Tell (Smirks)

 

Brandon: You do that, and I tell mom about the cigars you hide

 

Cole: You know?

 

Brandon: Yes sir I do, See ya later dad (goes to the garage, Jumps on his motorcycle and takes off)

 

(Later on, At the Club)

 

Mandy: (Watches Brandon come in) Hey boss, Kathy is out sick, something about the flu

 

Brandon: Ok, anything else?

 

Mandy: Nope, so about Kathy?

 

Brandon: I will take over the Bar, I do know how mix drinks you know (Grins)

 

(20 minutes later, Jackie goes the bar)

 

Jackie:  (Sit’s on the stool) Hey bar tender, can I get some white wine?

 

Brandon: (Brings her some white wine) So no rings?

 

Jackie: (Stares at him) That is none of your business (Grabs her glass and takes a sip)

 

Brandon: maybe not, But what if I wanted to ask you out sometime (Leans on the bar)

 

Jackie: In that case (Dumps her wine on his head) my answer would be never in this life time (Walks away)

 

Brandon: What did I do?

 

Mandy: She just broke up with her bf for one, her name is Jackie Cullen’s, and she is part of your brother’s band

 

Brandon: S**t, no wonder she hates me

 

Mandy: Yep (Grabs the drinks) No s**t

 

Brandon: (Pours a glass of wine and puts it on the platter) Tell her it is on the house

 

Mandy: Sure thing… Boss (Walks over to Jackie’s table) Hey darling, this is for you. On the house

 

Jackie: Thanks Mandy, how is Courtney?

 

Mandy: She is great, spending time with her grandma; I sure do miss her though

 

Jackie: I bet, so what the story behind the bar tender?

 

Mandy: Oh Brandon?  He has a huge ego, thinks he can have any girl he wants, that is until you poured wine on him

 

Jackie: Well he deserves it, plus he doesn’t know the first thing about a woman

 

Mandy: More power to you, most women can’t resist him

 

Jackie: Mandy (Writes her name and number on a napkin) Give this to your boss, maybe I can change him for the better

 

Mandy: Good luck (Takes the napkin and empty platter back to the bar) hey Romeo; this is from Jackie (Hands him the napkin)

 

Brandon: Thanks Mandy (Puts it his pocket) No woman can resist my charm and good looks (Grins)

 

Mandy: Sure Brandon, every girl loves you for that (Stalks away)

 

Brandon: Woman, they always confuse you

 

(Denis and his band play through the night, just before closing)

 

Brandon: (Comes up to Jackie) you were really great tonight

 

Jackie: Thanks (Gathers up her stuff) well I guess I will be on my way

 

Brandon: Wait, (Grabs her arm) I want to apologize for earlier

 

Jackie: Apologize accepted, now let me go, I have a date I am late for

 

Brandon: A date?

 

Jackie: Yep, see ya later (Leaves)

 

Brandon: (Sits down) A date?

 

Mandy: With her grandma I believe

 

Brandon: Then why didn’t she just say that?!

 

Mandy: Who knows (Sweeps the floors and puts the chairs on the table) now if you don’t mind, I want to go home to popcorn and a movie (Grabs her coat and leaves)

 

(Meanwhile, Jackie and rose are having a very late dinner)

 

Rose: So darling, How was your night?

 

Jackie: It was fine, till some jerk hit on me (Adds dressing to her salad)

 

Rose: Darling girl, it has been 4 months since Zack, don’t you think it is time to move on?

 

Jackie: I thought you promised Grandma, no more mettling in my love life (Grins)

 

Rose: All right sorry (Cuts her chicken) Anyways, When are you going to come visit me again?

 

Jackie: How about once you get rid of that dam old cat?

 

Rose: Mr. whiskers? But he has been with me for many years

Jackie: Yes, and the cat is demented. How about we buy a nice dog instead?

 

Rose: Oh poo, you know I don’t like dogs (Chuckles) Let’s eat, then maybe later you can tell me about this guy who has you troubled

 

(Over at The Holden house, Haden is reading in the library when Brandon comes in)

 

Brandon: (Comes into the room and throws his coat on a chair) Haden, where is everyone? (Pours himself a drink and sits down on a chair)

 

Haden: (Without looking up from his book) Mom and dad are sleeping, josh is in his room listening to a new cd I bought him, Denis is out, and I am trying to read (Flips a page in his book)

 

Brandon: Haden, for one second can you stop being so… nerdish, and help me out?

 

Haden: Nerdish is not a word, I believe book smart is more like it, but you wouldn’t know what that is because I doubt you ever even read a book (Puts his bookmark in his book and puts it down) Alright, so who is she?

 

Brandon: How do you know it is a she?

 

Haden: What other kind of problem would a guy like you have (Smirks)

 

Brandon: Her name is Jackie, all I said was no rings and asked her out to dinner, and she threw wine on my head

 

Haden: Well, I congratulate her on her choice in men at least, and I know her, she is lead singer in Denis’s band right?

 

Brandon: Yes… how come I don’t know her?

 

Haden: Well, you always out partying when she is over here, so ya, she is a nice girl; She just broke up with Zack, if I am right?

 

Brandon: Ya you are, she gave me her name and number, do I call her right away?

 

Haden: You really don’t know girls do you?

 

Brandon: I do, why do you thinks girls always fall for me?

 

Haden: Yep, they fall for you, and then you break their poor hearts, Brandon (Leans forward) Do you want to be with Jackie? Or is she just going to be another name in your book

 

Brandon: I don’t know Haden, she seems… Different from other girls (Stands by the window) She is the only girl not to fall hard for me, or even at all

 

Haden: So now she is what? A challenge you want?

 

Brandon: I DON’T KNOW! I really don’t know, I am going to bed (Leaves to his room)

 

(The next day)

 

(Jackie wakes up to someone knocking on her door)

 

Jackie: (Jumps out of bed and stalks to the door, Throws it open) Why must you always wake me up this early?

 

Tay: Because, I am your best friend (Goes into the kitchen and drops the bag) we go through this every morning (Hands Jackie a breakfast wrap and a coffee)

 

Jackie: (Sits at the Table) Yes well, thanks for breakfast, how was your date last night?

 

Tay: It wasn’t a date, look, I heard about last night, want to talk about it?

 

Jackie: About Brandon?

 

Tay: Oh, so I see you met the player huh (Takes a sip of her coffee)

 

Jackie: Mhmm, he tried hitting on me, so I dumped a glass of wine on his head, then gave him my name and number

 

Tay: (Sighs) I must admit, you do have a lot of fun, do you plan on dating him? Or just stringing him along?

 

Jackie: (Stares at Tay) Who are you, and what have you done with my best friend? Hmm, what happened to the girl who thought playing hard to get was the best way to go?

 

Tay: I decided, playing hard to get is a waste of time, look, all I am going to say about this, is be careful ok? I don’t want you to get hurt

 

Jackie: You worry about me way too much

 

Tay: Well someone has to, so what do you say to a shopping spree? I don’t have any school today

 

Jackie: Your not going to let me sleep are you?

 

Tay: Not on a nice day like this (Grins)

 

Jackie: I hate you (Finishes her coffee)

 

Tay: no you don’t (Pushes her) now go get ready, we might find something sexy for your first date with Brandon (Waggles her eyebrows)

 

Jackie: God your such a b***h some days

 

Tay: Why thank you love, now get moving

 

(Half an hour later, Tay And Jackie are busy in the mall)

 

Tay: (Looking at tank tops) Jackie, what do you think of him?

 

Jackie: (Looking at Tee-shirts) Of whom?

 

Tay: Brandon of course (Chooses a couple of tank tops and heads to a dressing room)

 

Jackie: (Leans against the wall) I don’t really know the guy, all I really know, is he goes through girls like you go through clothes

 

Tay: (giggles) not my fault, some clothes just don’t look good on me

 

Jackie: Everything looks good on you, in fact I am jealous

 

Tay: Pft, you always look better then I do (comes out with 2 tank tops) well I am done in this store, where to next?

 

Jackie: I don’t know (See’s Haden pass by with Josh in tow) Omg

 

Tay: What? (Pays for their stuff and comes and stands by Jackie) did you see someone? Or something?

 

Jackie: (Keeps staring out the door) I seen Haden and Josh pass by

 

Tay: Hmm, no wonder you have that love struck look in your eyes

 

Jackie: (Sighs) do not, let’s go to the next store? Maybe I can find a decent pair of shoes

 

Tay: Yes, because a girl NEEDS 200 pairs of shoes right?

 

Jackie: try 15 pairs, and since when do you care?

 

Tay: Calm down Jack, Look, do you want to leave?

 

Jackie: Do you need anything else?

 

Tay: Nothing I can’t get any other day (Puts her arm around her shoulder) do you want to go talk to the boys?

 

Jackie: Ummm….

 

Tay: I will take that as a yes (Grins, Tay and Jackie walk to the food court and find Brandon and Josh)

 

Brandon: Well well, look what the cat dragged in

 

Tay: Awe Brandon, do you still hate me?

 

Brandon: Umm yes, you left me in the woods alone

 

Tay: Well I got cold, and I had to be home by 11 (Grins)

 

Brandon: Lier

 

Tay: And good at it (Winks at Brandon) hello josh (Kisses his cheek) miss me?

 

Josh: Every day Tay Tay

 

Tay: Well call me, and we can do lunch, if you wish

 

Josh: Sounds good to me, Well I have to get going, I need to get a few things, so I will see you guys later (Kisses the girl’s cheeks and leaves)

 

Brandon: So Jackie, Do you still hate me?

 

Jackie: I don’t hate you, per say, you just have no clue on how to talk to girls

 

Brandon: Maybe you’re right, so how about dinner tonight?

 

Jackie: I am busy tonight

 

Brandon: Oh…

 

Jackie: But how about tomorrow?

 

Brandon: Not good, I have to work

 

Jackie: Well, call me when you do have a day off, or w.e (Walks off)

 

Brandon: Tay, what is wrong with me?

 

Tay: You, my dear, have finally met your match I think, see ya later Bran (Goes after Jackie)

 

Jackie: (Stalks to Tay’s car and jumps in, Tay follows her and get’s in the car) God I hate him some days (Snaps her seat belt into place)

 

Tay: (Starts the car and drives to Jackie’s) Look, Brandon can come off as a little strong, but underneath… he is a great guy, I mean he got arrested twice and was kicked out of the family about 3 times, but he is a nice guy

 

Jackie: wow, talk about problems

 

Tay: nah, he doisn't have problems, just a bad boy attitude that has the girls melting (Parks the car in Jackie's drive way) Don't worry, he will call you, soon, now go enjoy the rest of your afternoon (hugs her) and don't worry =]
