i am here

i am here

A Poem by taylorrose
"

about being invisible at school

"

when the bell rings

kids hurry to there class

but one lonely soul

stands and waits for one to see

invisible by the popular crowd

invisible to the smart crowd

invisible by the sports crowd

a girl in shoes of another

no choice in its own

the girl shy but wanting a friend

when the girl reaches her class

not a soul looks

not a soul speaks

she sits in silence

stares up at eyes looking

getting her hopes up for one second

to realize they arent looking at her but outside

when the bell rings

a girl lonely waits for a soul

to come and make her visible

to the crowds of high school

that girl is me

im a lonley soul in search

of something greater and bigger

a girl who wont settle for popular

who wont be a jock

who wont be smart to make it

I remember those days clearly and vivid as if it were yesterday. Know that your writing is very good. Know that you. WHO YOU ARE, is all that you ever need to be. Others will be drawn to your uniqueness. Because I don't even know you but already I can feel your emotions as if I have been standing next to you the whole time.

hmmm; you really have to figure out what popular really means to your perception. I know I wasn't the visible one or the popular one at school; because i not only was selective who I connected with; I was scared to make myself so visible coupled with the lack of training in communication and social skills. yes; the popular person does seem to come off as the "entertainer" but there are also popular people that actually like and crave to work for the public, to make the world a connected place by making the connection to others - i know what it feels like to not be picked up by a crowd; i used to feel sad about it but now - i feel grateful i wasn't because i can pick up and go thru crowds and still be an individual...fraternities or even religious groups couldnt scoop me up...the crowd seeks to strip the individual...but there has to be a balance; between collaboration, connection and working towards a greater purposes while celebrating differences within that same crowd...most people don't know how to do that; most people stick to people they can identify with because they find differences scary...its just perception.

I disagree with the ending. Anybody who can write and think with your skill. Won't be invisible. Being popular isn't a good thing. Better to observe the world and find your purpose. Thank you for sharing your poetry.
